January 16th, 2014 + Challenge

E-CSLIT Logo

Thursday, January 16th, 2014 wasn’t just any typical E-CSLIT meeting. In fact, it was very different. At the January face to face meeting, students gathered at the huge Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts theater for the meeting.

So many things happened that day: an improv team acted, there was pizza, and the E-CSLIT team sitting on newspaper chairs! Teacher apple eating contest.  Fun filled as always!

Here’s a re-cap of what happened:

Marivic welcomes everyone to the January meeting. To start off the meeting, she begins with a prayer.

Since the students were in Cardinal Carter's auditorium, Marivic could not have the students play her original ice breaker: molecule. Instead, she had them do the wave!

The goal of the game is to have a teacher eat an apple so that the seeds are visible. the trick is: the students have to hold the apple by the string and the teachers cannot hold onto it.

First Place: Mr. Bryce from St. Barbara – First school to reveal seeds (video evidence later revealed Mr. Bryce didn’t abide by the rules 🙂 (See footage below)

2nd Place: Mr. Choe from Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. (Again, video evidence showed that Mr. Choe didn’t reach the seeds “hands free” 🙂
Who made this big mess?
This is what we were left with at the end of the meeting. Who made this big mess? Thanks St. Barbara for staying back and helping clean up.
As we were cleaning... we found certain things inside the chairs. Uh oh.

Who put a phone book in their chair?
Who put a phone book in their chair?  Wasn’t the challenge supposed to be tape and newspapers only! Tiss Tiss.
Silly pizza box you aren't supposed to be in the chair. Oh wait! What's paper doing inside that box?

This was the strongest chair (but I think it used more than 2ft of tape) – Type a comment below and let us know what school you are from

This chair so so strong, Greg from St. Barbara can even stand on it.

This the winning chair (yay Precious Blood) since was the chair that could hold the most weight and abided by all the rules.

And that concludes our E-CSLIT meeting! We hope everyone had a great time. Also, a huge shout out to St. Angela for abiding all the rules! You guys are fantastic 🙂

See you at the next E-CSLIT meeting (Feb. 6) with your nursing posters! 🙂
