November 21st wasn’t a typical Thursday. In fact, it was a terrific Thursday, because it was the second E-CSLIT online meeting! Starting at 3:15 pm students and teachers began to log in to join Marivic, our E-CSLIT Chair, in the pre-show. During the pre-show Marivic entertained the students and teachers before the meeting officially began.
(Make sure to watch after show video at the end of the post)
Marivic welcomes everyone to the pre-show! She entertains everyone with her jokes 🙂Check it out: it’s the E-CSLIT Team!Mike begins the meeting with a magic trick as he get’s everyone to touch his finger – did you feel it through the screen?
How the magic trick works: Mike showed 9 virtues of the month. Everyone choose one virtue by placing their finger on the screen and followed Mike’s instructions. Â Somehow, Mike was able to make everyone move onto the square called “Year of Hope.”
Everyone was AMAZED by Mike’s magic trick. Including me!Mike introduces our guest speaker: JP Richards! (Do you remember who he is? Hint: Look at the first online meeting post ;))Welcome JP Richards to our online Minga!JP Richards explains who he is!Believe it or not but that’s JP.  Amongst other things, JP is the founder of Running Dead (Toronto Zombie Walk)JP Richards tells everyone the four keys of success! The first key to success: Get Paid for something you LOVE doing.  “Pay” could come in the form of knowledge, fun, experience, contacts, and opportunity. There was a poll asking “Who do you think is younger? Mike or JO?” And E-CSLIT voted Mike C is younger! Do you agree? The second key to success: Solve other people’s problems.“Take a job for what you’ll LEARN not earn.” Knowledge and experience is more important than money.  (Do you know who that man is in the picture? Leave a comment below)The third key to success…. can you name it?Who are YOUR mentors? Leave a comment below! Two great examples of mentors are…… MIKE AND GREG 🙂A quick recap of all the keys to success. Thank you so much JP for speaking and sharing your knowledge and experience.Time for the game: 16 questions. Snickers asks, “What is November’s virtue of the month?”It’s the Milky Way asking “What is Mike’s twitter?” (Follow @MikeCLeadership for knowledge, insight and motivation)Mike asks the last question……it seems like this last question is becoming a tradition.Time for student best practice! St. Martin De Porres shares some of the awesome leadership initiatives they are doing at their school.
St. Barbara student leaders also go to share some of their awesomeness!
Thank you so much St. Martin De Porres for sharing your best teacher practice 🙂
That concludes our meeting (or does it?).
Mark these dates on your calendar!!!Time for the secret show! Every member on the E-CSLIT team sang I want it that way!
After signing off, we all waited ONE minute to see who would stay on for the (secret) after show. Â If you logged off, this is what you missed:
After our lovely singing performance, we took a poll to see who you thought was the best singer.
Snickers is in the lead!
And that concludes the E-CSLIT online meeting! Thank you to everyone who participated.
See you all at the next face-to-face meeting on December the 5th at 4:30!
