It is that time of year again, the time of year when Michael Consul takes a group of student leaders from the TCDSB to the Philippines to engage in meaningful service work. These student leaders will be assisting A.N.C.O.P. in building communities for the poor residing in Manila Philippines.
The student leaders are scheduled to leave Canada on December 26 at 2:15pm and are scheduled to land in the Philippines on December 27 at 10:10pm (local time). They will return on January 7 at 8:30pm.
Here is a list of the people involved with this trip.

Continue to follow us everyday. Pictures and videos will be posted daily.
Wahoo! I’m just finishing up my packing and I am so ready to leave for tomorrow! I have lots of extra space on my carry-on and luggage if anyone doesn’t. It’s unbelievable to me (still!) that in 24 hours I’ll be on a plane to have an experience of a lifetime. I’m gonna miss everyone here though. I’ll check up on you guys (if you don’t mind the thirteen hour difference) as long as you guys check up on us. ^^
Excited to explore a new part of the world and truely make a difference this Christmas! Kinda nervous at the same time though; don’t really know what to expect…I guess that’s kinda exciting too!
Aah! Can’t believe we leave tomorrow already! The past three months have been surreal with people wholeheartedly supporting our fundraising activities and our team learning and bonding together. I’m very excited to meet the beautiful people we are going to be helping and spending time with. This journey of ours will be the best way to end and start the year! Wishing us safe and happy travels! I’m already so proud of us!
Incredibly thrilled to begin a new adventure tomorrow! It’s been a great deal of work preparing for this trip, but I definitely know it will be worth everything we’ve all done to make it this far. Definitely a tad bit nervous, but I think the adrenaline will eradicate all the anxiety.
Excited to see everyone tomorrow at the airport!
Merry Christmas to you all!
Despite that, I’m still so excited to meet the kids, and play with them, and give them gifts! I just hope that I can leave a positive impact in the Phillipines, and that I might be able to change their lives with the same power they will mine.
I am so grateful to God for blessing with incredible family and friends who have supported me, and for the amazing team I will be going on this journey with. God is always here, and I trust in Him that the Philippines is where I am meant to be this Christmas Break.
Very excited to be leaving in a little over 12 hours! I still don’t think it has sunk in yet that I will be leaving tomorrow. I can’t wait to see the childrens faces when we give them the priceless gift of a new home for christmas. I am so thankful for everyone who supported me and got me here, it’s all for a great cause. Thank you so much.
Merry Christmas to all.
Eventhough most leaders are excited about beginning this journey tomorrow, all I can think about is the end. What will it be like when we leave. I don’t want to be sad but I probably will be. But since the beginning of this month I’ve been excited to start the trip. No I just have crazy butterflies in my stomach. Can’t wait till tomorrow.
It’s weird… The excitement has yet to hit me. I think that once I’m on the airplane I’ll finally realize that “oh gosh… this is actually happening”. But for now I’m not really excited, just prepared. Hand me some tools and introduce me to some people cuz I’m ready! Watch out! B)
I have crazy butterflies in my stomach right now. I’m so excited I’m about to explode. I can’t believe I actually made it this far. I thought I might not be able to do it, but I did and it feels great. I’m excited to start this adventure with everyone and I hope we build great homes.
Merry Christmas
I am so excited to be going on this trip. ive been excited since the month started. right now i have crazy butterflies in my stomach and i just cant wait for tomorrow to come. i hope we build great homes. im so lucky to be going on this trip with such amazing kind hearted people.
I know we will all do great things and have a great time.
I can’t believe we’re leaving in under 24 hours! I’m WAY too calm. But, I don’t think it has quite hit me yet, despite the long nights spent learning and preparing for this trip and the constant reminders from Mr. Consul 😛 And Wow, three months have already gone by?! To think, if it wasn’t for this program I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet, bond with and learn from so many kindhearted people. I’m a very lucky person! Wish us luck on our long (18ish hour flight) journey!

I know it’s weeks later but I just saw this link on the TCDSB website….
I’m so happy and proud to see that you’ve taken this opportunity to learn and to grow as a global citizen. What a great experience that will no doubt leave you with unforgettable memories.
From your long ago Grade 7 teacher….Ms. G, who knew you as Elizabeth but recognized your picture right away! 😉
Thanks for the comment. I’ll make sure to pass it along to the team.
Oh My Goodness! It’s been a very long time since I have heard anything from you! I can’t believe you commented, but I’m very happy you did. In part going on this trip was thanks to you. I remember you talking to our class about the living conditions and hardships a lot of third world countries dealt with. That in combination with your willingness to go to another country just to help strangers who were suffering really stuck with me. So, thank you for exposing me to these realities when I was young.

Rise and shine Team! Let’s all get to the airport on time, we have a long day ahead of us.
Im so exited to be flying again, and with 20 teenagers I doubt anyone will be sleeping on that plane (including all the adults).

SUPER EXCITED that this moment we’ve all been waiting for is coming reallllyyyy soon. I’ve been waiting all December for this once in a life time experience to help change many family’s lives and to give them a more suitable home for Christmas! Not only that, but we’ll also be able to experience a new culture, new environment, and to explore the Philippines. Although I have been in the Philippines already since December 6, I’ve been waiting for this very moment since I’ve arrived. Thanks again to all my family and friends who supported me with this very good cause. See you all tonight!
Many blessings to you all and on the good work ahead of you. I know it will be an amazing experience for everyone! Safe travels!! ✈️
