RECAP: CSLIT Online Meeting Tuesday, September 29, 2020

Our second CSLIT online meeting happened on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020 on YouTube LIVE. Explore some of the screenshots to see what you missed!
The meeting was hosted by our Student Trustees Kathy Nguyen from Madonna and Keith Baybayon from Marshall McLuhan.
Julia the CSLIT Faith Rep, lead the opening prayer which focused on faith and gratitude.
Up next, Kathy and Keith introduce us to Trustee Norm DiPasquale. He talked about how students can help others and the importance of taking action.
Our next guest speaker was Amanpreet Chonkrian from the Toronto Youth Council. She talked about how we can get involved with leadership and what amazing opportunities are available through the city of Toronto. She inspired us to keep thriving to reach our goals and how the journey is just as important as the final destination.
It’s game time!! Our CSLIT leaders compete to see which team can get the most points as they battle in Pictionary. The audience can also play along and win prizes if they are the first person to type in the correct answer in the chat box. Would you know that this drawing represented Camp Olympia?
CSLIT has various committees we can get involved with. Contact the Exec member above if you are interested in being part of that subcommittee.

Shania Muthu is the director of Social Justice. This subcommittee will focus on addressing the injustices that exist in our schools and global family.
Julia Rodrigues is our CSLIT Director of Faith. The Faith Committee will be creating events throughout the year that will focus on learning different aspects of our faith and deepening our relationship with God. Events will include monthly virtual “Let’s Talk Faith” meetings, and organizing Faith Camp.
Rebeca Mengesha is the director of equity. This subcommittee’s focus is to create events that will discuss ways we can create more equity within our schools, board, and community.
Marcos Fonseca is the director of the Angel Foundation for learning. The goal of the Angel Foundation is to serve students in need within the TCDSB. They are able to support students by nurturing them nutritionally, educationally, and spiritually.
Audri Supsup is a director of the Social Affairs. She is responsible for planning social events for CSLIT that allow student to bond and get to know each other. This year’s will include a Halloween get-together, a Christmas social, a year end CSLIT BBQ, and other events.
We have one more game: Name the emoji movie! First person to type the right answer in the chat box is eligible to win a pizza dinner delivered to their doorstep.
