Enjoy 3 Teacher Tips Thursday. Hope you find it resourceful.
VIRTUAL PLAY DAY
Just because the kids are learning from home this month, doesn’t mean they can’t have a Play Day! You can use the following games/challenges all in one day or spread them out, having one activity a day for the whole week.
The students can complete the activity as one big group, but can be placed into teams to compete against one another! Play for fun or keep score and see who emerges as Play Day Champions!
Station 1: Bottle Flip Challenge
Station 2: Paper Plane Cornhole Challenge
Station 3: Bowl Ball Challenge
Station 4: Water Bottle Trap Challenge
Station 5: Towel Flip Challenge
Use this SCORESHEET to track the challenges! Each challenge is played for 1 minute. You can play each challenge 3 times and have each player/team record their best score or cumulative score. Attached are links to see how each challenge is played. Have fun!
FITNESS TRIVIA CHALLENGES
These are great ways to get students motivated to participate and compete against one another solving a wide variety of themed trivia questions. Students will be asked a series of questions with three possible answers. Students select their answer by performing the exercise move that corresponds to the one they think is correct. These are just a few of our favourites. A quick search will lead you to so many more!
Guinness Book of Records – 2 Facts and a Flub
Disney Fitness Trivia
Sports Fitness Trivia
Zookeeper Fitness – Guess the Animal Sound
Guess Who? Family Workout Pets Edition – Guess the Animal Shadow
PE SPECIALIST – Ben Landers
This PE guru does it all! He has a blog, a podcast, a website, and a YouTube channel. He’s on several social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest! He is a very creative and passionate educator who offers a diverse range of resources that any teacher can immediately integrate into their own programming. You really have to check him out! If you’ve already clicked on the Play Day activities I posted…that’s him!
