9:10 – 9:45 – Keynote Speaker – Luke Stocking (Development & Peace)
–Social Justice: Putting your faith into action
PERIOD 2
9:45 – 9:55 – Break (Transition between classes)
9:55 – 10:25 – Workshop #1 (select and view 1 of 4 workshop topics)
10:25 – 10:35 – Break
10:35 – 11:05 – Workshop #2 (select and view 1 of 4 workshop topics)
11:05 – 11:10 – Closing Prayer
Workshop Topics
– Youth Homelessness
– Indigenous Truth, Reconciliation, and Restoration
– Climate Justice
– Conflict and Crisis in Kashmir
WHY
– Connecting the curriculum to real world social justice issues
– Exploring ways to put faith into action
– Supporting student voice and student leadership
HOW
– Sign up period 1 and/or 2 class to watch the event. Project the livestream to the entire class.
– Sign up your student leadership group (chaplaincy, student council, social justice club) to attend the event. These students would miss period 1 and 2 on this day in order to participate. Project the event to your group in a designated room (ex. Library, classroom).
