On Thursday, December 15, 2016 we hosted our 2nd online ECSLIT meeting, from 3:30pm-5:00pm using the skype business web app! There was a grand total of approximately 35+ participants spanning from various Elementary Toronto Catholic District schools. A big shout out goes out to all the meeting attendee’s and those that keep up to date with ECSLIT events!
After the 3:30-3:45 PM pre-show and giving the guest a couple of knee slapping jokes, Mike, Nilo and April began the meeting with a prayer encompassing the virtue of the month of December, Charity!
Just when you think your about to get into leadership learning, ECSLIT brings students to a halt and tests their awareness and listening skills as a leader!
How does ECSLIT do this?

At 4:30 pm we had our lovely guest speaker, Rhea Carlisle, the co Student Trustee of TCDSB and CSLIT ( Catholic Student Leadership Impact Team), speak to us about leadership opportunities and the importance of exercising ones’ leadership abilities.
Shout out to Skype for the blessings of being able to conference an online meeting in the comfort of your own home!
Mike Consul, 4 teachers and 23 student leaders across Toronto Catholic High schools, embarked on a service trip to Philippines from December 28, 2016 – January 11, 2016!
What is a service trip?
A service trip is an experiential overseas journey to an impoverished community in efforts to build positive, happy relationships and aid in labor work and social justice causes!
Above are some of the donations of school supplies student leaders packed to bring to various schools in the Philippines.
To the ECSLIT”ers”, Mike showed this picture for 5 seconds and asked each school to send an email of all the items they could see on the table.

Finally at 4:50, April left the student leaders with an empowering leadership video about being selfless.
