  1. Let the adventure begin… you are all in my thoughts and in my prayers.

  2. Wow! This is so amazing to see the journey you guys are about to begin! When I went on the trip last year, I had no idea how much it would affect me as a person. Keep your mind and heart open and stay healthy. Don’t be homesick too much because when will you ever get the chance to do this again? And please help Mike with the blog when you guys return to the hotel πŸ™‚ Good luck and God Bless! Ahh! So excited!!

  3. I’m so tired! The plans ride was so long but the movies were good. I’m already sick of planes and buses though, I’d rather take a boat or walk if possible x) but it’s going well so far.

  4. We finally made it! It was dark for all 15 hours of the flight from Toronto to Hong Kong, and time seemed to blend together. For some reason though, I couldn’t sleep at all, and instead watched at least 3 movies. Anyways, I’m super excited to be here. There is so much to take in at once.

  5. That 15 hour plane ride was so evil, I didn’t get a lot of sleep. I also wasn’t expecting to go over the Greenland, the North Pole and Russia, I thought we were going west through Alaska and the ring of fire. Also props to the plane for having Scorch Trials which I watched with Alexa and Megan (#seatbuddies) and both parts of Attack on Titan live action movie with subs.

  6. I haven’t been on that many planes but lets just say that this wasn’t my favourite plane ride. Personally it felt longer than a 15 hour flight, probably because I had trouble sleeping. I tried my best to keep myself busy by watching different movies but I’d always fall asleep after the first 10 minutes and wake up half an hour later. I got through the first 10 minutes of at least 4 movies, hopefully on the way back I’ll be able to finish an entire movie. I had the window seat and it was an interesting experience. I was only able to stand once to use the washroom, for majority of the flight Kalyna or Anne had their heads down on their tables and I was a somewhat stuck. But at least they had a good sleep!

  7. I’m surprised no one ended up crashing but I guess the adrenaline and excitement was enough to keep everyone going! I sat at the window seat so I was able to look at some landscapes of Greenland and Russia from the airplane (even if it was a bit dark!). I’m just happy to be off the planes for now and walking out and about. When I wanted to get up from my seat, I had to walk over my seatmates Natalie and Megan by stepping on the arm rests. Glad the plane ride wasn’t too bumpy or I would have slipped!

  8. AirPlanes are not my thing. Or should I more specific by saying Airplane food is not my thing. Other than that, the plane ride was not that bad. Mr. Consul was a pretty fun flying buddy and with a couple of movies and a super long nap, the ride went pretty quickly. The real rrouble was trying to find something to eat in the Hong Long airport that was affordable. I do not mean to be rude, but I am not paying for a $12 sandwich. Then it was off to our destination: The Philippines.

  9. I love plane rides because I know they are taking me to somewhere new! It’s an adventure waiting to happen! The plane ride from Toronto to Hong Kong didn’t feel long at all, I beautiful that was because I was able to slee most of the flight. I was able to watch movies and tv shows that I’ve been wanting to watch for a long time now. It was fun!

  10. I was so tired when we arrived in the Philippines, that flight was so reckless for me it was so hard to sleep on the plane i guess i was too excited. But keeping myself busy wasn’t so the flight felt a bit less than 15 hours THANK GOD!!! This is my first time in the Philippines, and i love it there are so many beautiful scenery to take in as soon you exit the airport it was fascinating.

  11. The flight sounded ridiculously long, however on the flight I was constantly entertained or sleeping. So in reality it wasn’t that long of a flight. Upon our arrival to the Hong Kong airport, I was really exited to see what it had to offer, and I was amazed by the size of the facility. As a result of the approximately three hours layover, I utilized the time to talk among the group and interact with teachers.

  12. The plane ride did not feel long at all which was awesome because I was dreading it a bit. I actually got a ton done on the plane, including a lot of homework, reading, and sleep πŸ˜‰ Before the trip happened I was a bit iffy about a lot of it but the second we got on the plane I realized I was truly going to the Philippines which was crazy exciting! πŸ˜€
