Our second ECSLIT Online Meeting happened on November 15th, 2017 via Skype, check out some screenshots to see what you missed!
Michael Consul began the meeting tight the ECSLIT pre-show which included Santa Claus, snowballs, and the North Pole.
Johanna led us in a group prayer for peace, comfort and strength.
Immediately after was a trivia game led by ECSLIT leaders Aviel and Michael! Congratulations to Jeff and Nancin who won the game.
Shout out to guest speaker Luke Stocking from Development and Peace for talking to us about taking action by promoting peace in the world. The photograph above shows a drawing made by Luke’s children. It is a happy drawing.
In contrast, this photograph – drawn by a child of war – shows violence and carnage. Luke says that we should have a world where every child can draw happy pictures.
This map of the world shows the high amount of violence found in our world as of September of 2017. Luke uses Mexico as an example, saying that there are no political wars, but the drug war is increasing and has become militarized.
The postcard above is Development and Peace’s solution to the issues plaguing the world. The postcards are being signed by elementary and secondary schools across the city and will be delivered to the Prime Minister in Ottawa.
Development and Peace will be hosting a peace rally to collect all the postcards on Wednesday,April 25th! All are welcome to attend.
Students watched a video on the 5 levels of leadership and was led in discussion by Aviel about what the 5 levels mean to them and how they can improve their own leadership abilities.
We had a second challenging online game. Michael Consul showed a series of famous monuments around the world and students had to email us what city this monuments can be found.
Congratulations to Keith from Our Lady of Assumption who got all the answers correct!
We hope that you enjoyed the ECSLIT Online and if you missed it don’t forget to join the next one! Until next time!
